Researching

By Alison Le Cornu

Open Habitat was a JISC-funded research project, within the Users and Innovation strand. Its main purpose was to explore the use of MUVEs in Higher Education teaching and learning, rather than investigate a precise research question. The approach we took, together with various other documents that are of relevance to researchers, is presented in this section of the site. Of particular interest might be the three papers which highlight the link between MUVEs and Massively Multiplier Online Games: From Swords to Hairstyles; and Learning from the Games Designers (1) and (2). There are also papers which consider how the very nature of knowledge is shifting as a result of the hugely increased accessibility to information in the electronic age, and how this relates to learning with MUVEs.
