The 1% program of Public Architecture connects nonprofit organizations in need of design assistance with architecture and design firms willing to donate their time on a pro bono basis. The program is inspired by groups including the AIA, our partner in advancing the pro bono design movement and the Taproot Foundation, a leader in pro bono service by business professionals. The 1% program is made possible thanks to crucial financial support from the corporate and private foundations, the National Endowment for the Arts, Shaw Contract Group, Teknion, and Formica, as well as the service contributions of firms’ including Gensler, HOK, Cannon, McCall Design Group, Perkins+Will, and hundreds more.
