In 2008 my wife started to put a mobile spay/neuter program together AngelDogs Foundation, the truck rolled out in April 2009. With my retirement around the corner from the City of Los Angeles I was looking for a second career. I decided to check out becoming a dog trainer. Little did I know that I would absolutely LOVE working with dogs. I firmly believe that this is the greatest thing I have accomplished so far in my lifetime. It is immensely rewarding to see a dog respond to your leadership and show that he/she trusts you. Its hard to explain the satisfaction that I gain from watching a dog progress in his bond, training and trust.

Mark and Mikey

I volunteer at Downtown Dog Rescue in the City of Los Angeles were I met Mighty Mike my first success story. Mike was in rescue for over a year and had killed 4 dogs and injured another who was in the hospital for a few months. I worked with Mike for 6 months, and I am happy to say that he found a forever home in June 2009. Downtown Dog Rescue is a great place to continue my education because every dog has different issues to work with. I also volunteer at the Los Angeles County animal shelter. I will continue to attend classes and seminars in order to stay on top of all the new and improved techniques. I am proud to say that I am an ABC certified trainer, Raise with Praise certified instructor, CPDT-KA, and ABC certified Mentor trainer. I look forward to a lifetime of helping people and their dogs live happier lives.

Mark has developed several programs, each designed to achieve specific results. His approach is not one size fits all. Some of Mark’s programs include:

      Hi Jessica,

      Thanks for the note.
I would teach your dog that going to it’s bed is a good place.
How to teach go to your bed.
Stand next to the bed with your hands on your chest with closed fists and a treat in your right hand. Say bed and with your right arm extend outward parallel with your shoulder and drop the treat on the bed and return your fist to your chest. If your dog puts one paw on the bed praise and treat, if your dog puts all four paws on the bed and stays there give him another treat, if he lies down on the bed jackpot your dog. After you have done this three to five times you will use the fake out, by this I mean you will hold the treat in your left hand and give the voice cue and hand signal for bed and when your dog goes to the bed praise and treat form the left hand. If your dog puts all four paws on the bed praise and treat, if he lies down jackpot. The next step is to start adding distance.
