Robert Marcus, glass artist of San Juan Pueblo uses the contemporary medium of glass to express the artistic creations that define his culture. Using mica as one of the main features in his vessels and sculptures, he attempts to keep the texture and look of micacious clay. "The combination of shapes and colors are consistently evolving and experimentation is the driving force behind my work." The end result of his endeavors are to bring this art to San Juan Pueblo and to teach the youth to use glass as a tool of expression, communication, collaboration and respect.
