Omni Cancun – Recommend
EP or All inclusive. All balcony rooms. Very narrow beach then rocks but they may get their beach restored. At the end of 2009 there will be a kids club. Grand Parnassus – Not Recommended
The inside looks like a ship and seems very dark and impersonal . The ground floor is like a food court with restaurants and snack bars. I think kids would love this. The kids club with a pirate ship and water slides is great for young kids. Family rooms have a separate area with bunk beds and a trundle so it will sleep a family of 5. Le Blanc could be described as luxury, upscale, stuffy. Gourmet dining with no reservations. Infinity pool and nice beach. Lagoon view and partial oceanview rooms but 75% are oceanview. Large gym. Incredible spa! Free internet and business center. Beth
Gran Caribe Real – Neutral
When you first walk into Gran Caribe Real you experience the Open air lobby. Active fun resort. Good value, good location. The buffet restaurant has beautiful ocean views. Only the MX restaurant needs reservations. The resort has a new water park and has family rooms that sleep 5 that open onto the park. Lobby bar with live music. Avalon Grand – Neutral
Avalon Grand has been redone and is very attractive. Studio rooms have a kitchenette. Exchange privileges with the Avalon Reef on Isla Mujeres. It has an active pool and quiet pool. This is like a boutique hotel. Be careful sending anyone there that has problems with stairs. There are a lot of stairs to the pool areas. I would not recommend this to families. Beach Palace – Recommended
I saw the Beach Palace before the hurricane and it was pretty shabby. It has been rebuilt and it beautiful. The beach is very small but the pool area is nice and it has a huge screen for movies and entertainment. 24 hour room service. Great location for shopping. Shuttle to the Moon Palace.
