Bicycle Safety Clinic
Saturday, May 5, 9 am-noon or 1-4 pm
Linwood Recreation Center 1901 S. Kansas

This Bicycle Safety Clinic, hosted by Wichita Park & Recreation, includes a safety inspection of each participant’s bicycle, instruction about the rules of the road and training on a miniature street course. Then put those skills to the test on a supervised ride along the Linwood Bike Trail. Family participation is encouraged. Bring your own bike and helmet. (Helmets are mandatory).

Fee: $5 per person (ages 6-adult)

Not a big turnout of Coasters but enough to make our presence known. The rain held off, but the wind had us picking up bikes all day. The bikes suffered a few scratches and scrapes. 17 bikes and 9 riders in the parade.

Help make bicycling safer, easier, and more convenient by attending the Wichita Bicycle Master Plan Open House from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1st at City Hall. The open house will include a presentation at 6:00 p.m. and opportunities for participants to review and comment on the proposed:

bicycle facility types;
bicycle facility locations;
funding strategies; and
the draft plan document text.

About the Plan
The City of Wichita Bicycle Master Plan will identify and prioritize strategies to provide new and enhanced bicycle facilities and increase both the number and frequency of people bicycling in Wichita. The plan will provide a framework and strategies for improving the connectivity, safety, comfort, and convenience of the bicycle network.
