Here’s a new one from Mac Miller who gets bars from Curren$y and some bouncy, laid-back production from Chuck Inglish.

LiveLoveA$AP was one of my favorite releases of last year, and 2012 holds big things for the Harlem MC. This is the first single off A$AP Rocky’s LongLiveA$AP debut album due sometime in July, but in the meantime I’m waiting anxiously for this A$AP Mob release.

Monday April 16th, 2012 18:38 Bibio: Lovers Carvings (Bruno Be & Eddie M Remix)

spacer

Hola amigos. My name is Kevin, a friend of East Coast contributors Dan and Tim. They’ve brought me on as the newest ranger and I’m glad to be here.

In light of the hot rays that have graced us (but cursed o’ heroic marathoners), here is a track that will let you breath easy after a long weekend in the sun – UK producer Bibio’s original swooner “Lovers’ Carvings” has been remixed perfectly by Brazilian Bruno Be and his compadre Eddie M. Enjoy.

Theophilus London has been performing this track live for a minute, but has just liberated the studio quality version of his collaboration with A$AP Rocky. This sample over the drum-heavy, Houston-influenced production, and that artwork are just so damn fly..

Friday April 13th, 2012 04:38 The Lumineers: Ho Hey

If you are a nerd like me and enjoy ruining you day with bad economic news, quirky NPR fun, or podcasts than you really should subscribe to the Planet Money podcast. It’s all kind of economic epicness. The podcast hosts also do an incredible job of picking music for the introductions and exits to each episode, usually featuring delightful indie music or pop sensations. Recently they they turned me on to this Lumineers album, which is a endearing blend of folk and pop. Check out “Ho Hey” above, stream their album at their website, and if you have Spotify (go get it, tis free for anyone in the US) you can listen to the whole album right here!

Thursday April 12th, 2012 11:03 Yuck: Chew

spacer

One of my favorite albums of 2011 was Yuck’s Self Titles Debut. The UK based band looked around and figured they were better off in the 90′s, producing one of the many nostalgic laced albums of this decade. If you have not heard Suck or Stutter yet, well what are you waiting for? Yuck is back for more with the same terrible cover art. “Chew” picks up where they left off, and a release date for a full release is set to come. Listen / rejoice to “Chew” below.

Wednesday April 11th, 2012 09:46 Stepdad: Must Land Running

I am a huge fan of the upbeat pop rhythm that lines the back of this new Stepdad song. Also…best album art ever? Wildlife Pop, Stepdad’s upcoming full length album, comes out on June 12th via Black Bell.

Tuesday April 10th, 2012 11:56 JJAMZ: Never Enough

 spacer

And we continue on with the female vocalist love. JJAMZ is a bit of a super group, with members coming from Bright Eyes, Phantom Planet, Maroon 5 and Like. “Never Enough”  is off their debut Suicide Pact and tells the story of a doomed romance. The video (after the jump) does a better job of bringing the song to life.

Sunday April 8th, 2012 09:23 Mr Little Jeans: Runaway

spacer

I have been on a major female vocalist fix lately. From spinning old Phantogram tunes to the new Dragonette song, it’s safe to say the POTUS and I are on the same page when it comes to this War Against Women. Next on my list is a miss Monica Birkenes, whose “Runaway” is the latest new release to get stuck in my head on endless repeat.  It’s a great, loopy pop song. We look forward to more from the fan of small jeans.
