Restore Freedom Gala 2012

spacer

This year’s Restore Freedom Gala celebrated Restore NYC’s accomplishments in the fight against modern-day slavery in New York City and raised crucial funds for our holistic, long-term care for international survivors of sex trafficking. The sold-out Freedom Gala at City Winery included an exclusive silent auction and raffle (click here to see winners!), a video featuring client testimonies and updates from new Restore Executive Director Jimmy Lee. Musical guests were Paula Cole, Ashley Arrison and Amy Lee of Evanescence, who sang the song “My Heart is Broken,” which is inspired in part by the female survivors at Restore.

On Monday, Sept. 26, we launched a campaign to hire a Spanish-speaking case manager and kicked off a one-month competition celebrating the launch of our new MyRestore fundraising tool. With a pressing need to serve the growing number of Hispanic clients, our campaign goal is to raise $50,000 from individual and team participants.

Please join us in restoring freedom for another population group in New York City.

Simply set up your own MyRestore webpage to raise funds on behalf of Restore NYC, and send it to family and friends. Start Your Campaign →

There are great prizes for:

3. The Most Creative Fundraising Method — Four Chelsea Piers Gold Passports
Also, we will feature the most effective group/organization campaign on our blog.

Restore 2012

On December 31, 2011, nearly 400 Restore NYC supporters gathered together to celebrate hope and renewal at Restore 2012, our 5th New Year's Eve Benefit. The event raised critical funds for Restore’s aftercare and safehouse programs. Thank you to all those who bought tickets, donated for the iPad giveaway, or supported the event in other capacities. 2011 Freedom Gala

Restore NYC held its 2nd annual Freedom Gala at the historic Angel Orensanz Gallery in the Lower East Side of Manhattan on March 24, 2011. Emceed by National Book Award finalist Patricia McCormick, author of the novel Sold, the event was an animated night featuring live entertainment by the Brooklyn band Zach Williams and the Bellow and dancer Jennifer Jones. Accentuating the gallery's stunning space was the display of art from local artists Jordan Matter Photography, Suzanne Unrein and Stephanie A. Lindquist.

The generosity of over 550 people in attendance helped us raise more than $130,000 in donations, including ticket sales, silent auction purchases and pledges. These funds give the women we serve access to new lives independent from the criminal networks of traffickers that brought them to New York City. Photos by Minnow Park.
