You may have noticed that many local, national and international businesses have web sites. Check out Sierra At Tahoe, REI Outdoor Equipment, Nike, etc. These companies all know that a web site gives them...
If you put your web page on your local Internet account, your web page and email addresses will be something like this:
If you have your own domain, your addresses will be:
mary@yourcompany.com
sales@yourcompany.com
People will be able to access your web page simply by typing "yourcompany" into their browser. You will have many email accounts, one for each of your employees and departments if you wish. Plus, you will have much more computer space for storage if you own your domain. This could be valuable if you have a large web site. With your own domain, your company will have the same online presence as IBM, Nike, and Ford.

Computer Instruction Prices*For example, this web site counts as at least two pages, as you will need to scroll down at least four times to view the entire page.
**If you already have scans of your photos and logos, I'll insert them for free. Also, I have a large collection of clip art that is free for your use.
***If you already have your text saved on a diskette, you can avoid typing charges.
Keep in mind that the more images you add to your page, the slower it will download onto your customers' browsers, and you could lose the sale if your potential customer is impatient. Did you notice how fast this page loaded?
When your page is completed, I'll upload it onto your server and give you the files.
I can also make a small (or big) movie that you can place on your page, as in the examples below. One is a QuickTime movie, the other a Flash movie.
QuickTime version
I use GoDaddy for web page and email services. They have several plans depending on your needs, but I find that their basic plan, which includes plenty of web page storage space, 100MB of email storage with up to 100 email addresses and one personal email account with 1GB of staorage (if your domain name is registered with GoDaddy) for about $60 a year is more than adequate.
You can view a complete list of features and prices at www.godaddy.com
Please note that these prices do not include access to the Internet. You can obtain that locally for $15 to $30 a month (DSL) or about $60 amonth (satellite). You don't need access to the internet to have a web page.
Here are some web pages that I've done:
Elder Options , a local home care and consultancy business.
Placerville Aviation, a local aircraft instruction and maintenance business. This page has a neat web based calendar for scheduling aircraft and instructors.
Cedar Professional Building, rental office suites in Placerville, which I just happen to own.
Eileen Keaveny, LCSW, a local psychotherapy counselor's page. I didn't pick the colors.
Don Heape, a local attorney.
