ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The Code Generation conference is the leading event on the practical applications of Model-Driven Software Development (MDSD). It offers a high quality learning experience by combining discussions and debates with a diverse range of practical tutorials and workshops. It will also give you the opportunity to share experiences and knowledge with fellow developers.
The conference is now in its 6th year and is known for providing a high-value learning experience. This reputation has been built up by attracting industry-recognised experts to share their experiences at the conference.

LANGUAGE WORKBENCH CHALLENGE
The 2nd Language Workbench Challenge took place at Code Generation 2012 on 27th March.

We are very pleased to announce Jan Bosch and Markus Vlter as keynote speakers for this year's event. We would also like to welcome David Woods to give our evening talk on Thursday 29th March.

Jan Bosch, keynote Speed and Innovation through Architecture Jan Bosch is professor of software engineering and co-director of the software research center at Chalmers University Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. Earlier, he worked as Vice President Engineering Process at Intuit Inc where he also lead Intuit's Open Innovation efforts and headed the central mobile technologies team. Before Intuit, he was head of the Software and Application Technologies Laboratory at Nokia Research Center, Finland. Before joining Nokia, he headed the software engineering research group at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands, where he holds a professorship in software engineering. He received a MSc degree from the University of Twente, The Netherlands, and a PhD degree from Lund University, Sweden. His research activities include compositional software engineering, software ecosystems, software architecture, software product families and software variability management. He is the author of a book "Design and Use of Software Architectures: Adopting and Evolving a Product Line Approach" published by Pearson Education (Addison-Wesley & ACM Press), (co-)editor of several books and volumes in, among others, the Springer LNCS series and (co-)author of a significant number of research articles. He is editor for Science of Computer Programming, has been guest editor for journal issues, chaired several conferences as general and program chair, served on many program committees and organized numerous workshops. |

Markus Vlter, keynote Domain-Specific Language Design - A conceptual framework for building good DSLs Markus Vlter works as an independent researcher, consultant and coach for itemis AG in Stuttgart, Germany. His focus is on software architecture, model-driven software development and domain specific languages as well as on product line engineering. Markus also regularly writes (articles, patterns, books) and speaks (training, conferences) on those subjects. |

David Woods - evening talk 29th March - How Apollo flew to the Moon. David Woods is author of the popular book, How Apollo Flew to the Moon. Woods has had a passion for space exploration since childhood. He has worked as a volunteer for NASA, helping with digitisation of its historical documentation, and has received a Special Service Award from the organisation for making its history books available via the web. |

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE?
The Code Generation conference attracts an international audience of software professionals. Over 50% of participants come from outside the UK, some coming from as far North America, Japan, Korea, Australasia and South America. Participants come from organisations of all different sizes and have a varying level of experience of Model-Driven Software Development, but all share a passion for learning more about the tools, technologies, processes and practices that will make their organisations successful with these approaches. The event is a high-quality learning experience but we also make time for informal meetings and social events.

VENUE
Code Generation 2012 will take place at Murray Edwards College, Cambridge in the college's Buckingham House Conference Centre. We have used this venue for the previous three Code Generation conferences.
ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS
The event is non-residential but we have secured a number of conveniently-located bed and breakfast rooms at the college. We have also listed some additional accommodation options.
